Texas Learners Permit Test | Texas Permit Test 2013

The 2013 Texas permit test is something that must be taken by every Texas drivers license applicant, no matter how old you are. The learners permit test covers the state driving rules, road signs and safe driving practices. There is no way to bypass the test, however in some cases, you may have the option of taking your 2013 Texas learners permit test at home and not at the DPS office. This option is available to you if you are at least 18 years of age and have completed an online drivers education class. In all other cases, you must visit a drivers license office and take your Texas permit test there.

Places To Take Texas Permit Test

You may take the Texas permit test at one of the Texas Drivers License offices, which are local branches of the Department of Public Safety (DPS). If you would like to locate the drivers license office near you, you may visit the official Texas DPS website, they provide the full list of their branches.

What To Expect on Your Texas Permit Test

If you intend on taking the Texas learners permit test some time soon, you have to make sure that you are fully prepared before you visit one of the DPS offices. You can try our Texas permit practice test to check if you are up for the real thing. Although the practice permit test Texas sample quiz does not feature questions that are identical to those that come up on the real permit test, they can still help a lot because they cover the same topics as the real permit exam. The main purpose of practice permit tests is to help you identify the driving rules you may have missed while preparing for the permit test at the DPS. Remember that the Texas DMV practice test and the Texas drivers license practice test are free and feature unlimited sample practice questions, so there is no harm in taking them.

In order to be able to take the learners permit test in Texas, you must:

  1. Be at least 15 years of age

  2. Proof of enrollment or a certificate of completion for a Texas drivers education course
  3. You also need your parent or legal guardian to sign the application form for you

Once you pass your Texas driver permit test, you will have to give a thumb print and have your picture taken. Once that is done, the DPS clerk shall issue you with your Texas learners permit.

How To Prepare For The Texas Permit Test

The best way to prepare for the DPS permit test is to take a Texas drivers education course. Drivers education classes come in a variety of different forms, you may take drivers ed in your high school or your parents may want to purchase one of the Texas parent taught drivers ed courses for you and have you take the class at home.

Another good way for you to prepare for the test is to read a Texas drivers permit test book, which is also known as the drivers manual. The book contains everything you need to know for passing the test and it also contains a comprehensive coverage of the state licensing procedure. Once you are done with the book, take a free permit practice test to see if you missed anything.
