Taking the NY DMV Permit Test
The licensing agency in New York is the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles and you will get your NYS learners permit and drivers license from them. However, in order to make the procedure more convenient for the public, the Department delegates permit testing to other agencies and organizations. High school students may take the NYC permit test at their high school if the high school is participating in the DMV Online Knowledge Test Application (OKTA) program.
