Why Should I Take Virginia Permit Practice Test?

The first reason why someone would take Virginia practice permit tests is because the permit practice test helps you familiarize yourself with the terminology used on the real DMV test. The DMV only wants those who know the traffic rules inside out to be on the road and sometimes phrases permit test questions in the way that may confuse you. Practice permit tests will help you learn this terminology and wording used at the DMV.

Another reason for you to take the Virginia learners permit practice test is the fact that practice tests help you evaluate your level of preparation before you go in for the actual DMV VA permit test. You might have completed a Virginia drivers education course, read a guide to Virginia drivers license and think you know all the rules and regulations, however, there is no way of knowing that you are right unless you actually test yourself. Doing well on the DMV practice test VA sample quiz will also strike some confidence into you and reduce the amount of stress you will experience at the office.

Considering all reasons listed above and taking into account that practice tests are free, the question of why should you take the permit practice test VA sample exam before you go in for the real thing turns into why shouldn't you take it? Not using an opportunity to test yourself before hitting the DMV office is simply rechless.

Individual Practice Permit Test VA Questions

One thing you really need to learn to be able to pass your Virginia DMV permit test the first time you take it is to reason your way through those questions. This is an important skill you need to learn, to analyze every VA drivers permit test question, really dig into those answers. If you do this, you can usually drop at least half of the answers that are incorrect even if you don't know the right answer off the top of your head and then you only have to choose between two answers, giving you a better chance to answer the question correctly. Of course, this does not eliminate the need to study and to learn Virginia road rules and traffic signs, but you can usually wing a question or two this way. Plus, analyzing VA permit test questions usually helps you understand the rules better, to understand why these rules were developed in the first place.

In order to help you get started with analyzing permit test questions, we prepared a number of Virginia sample questions that we went through for you, go ahead and check them out.

Keep getting a 80...

Hope this works! I gotta take it tomorrow and its my second time!! :(((

Hi, I've gotten an 85% a lot of times now, but I'm still not sure whether I'm ready. Since I've been taking this practice test nearly every day, it could be that I'm simply memorizing the answers to the practice test questions, instead of really getting somewhere. Is there any way to truly know whether I'm ready or not? I've already taken the test once, and I don't want to fail a second time. Also, I've noticed that this practice test doesn't really go over penalties or causes of penalties (i.e. penalties for DUI) very that how it is in the real test? There sure are a lot of reasons for penalties to memorize from the manual, and I'm not sure how much of it I really need for the test.

YES! Finally after taking so many tests I have received a 95%! The only thing left now is to try and get 100% so I can go take my permit test with confidence!

How do I retake this test?

Hello Talula! You are right, it is wiser to wait and study some more before you go ahead and take the VA permit test at the DMV, since you will need a much higher score to pass the real exam. Have you read the drivers manual before you started taking this Virginia learners permit practice test or did you dive straight into these sample questions? If you have not read the book, now is the time to do so, you won't believe how reading the manual can improve your score, especially if you take notes as you go. If you have troubles remembering certain rules, the best way to study those is to make flashcards that you post all over your room so you will have those rules in front of you all the time. I know it sounds silly in this electronic age, but it does work, trust me. Once you brush up on those rules somewhat, you can try to take this Virginia permit practice test again, you will see that your score is much better! Good luck!

I got a 65% this time. -_- I don't think I should try to get my permit after all

Hi Nathan! If it is going to be your third time taking the VA permit test, you should really buckle down and study hard. The thing is that if you fail your learners permit test three times, the DMV will have you take the mandatory drivers education course before allowing you to retake the permit test again and that will cost extra! Download a copy of the drivers manual, go through it at least once, then come back to these practice permit test VA questions. Whenever you encounter a question to cannot answer, look up the correct answer in the book. Keep doing this until you can answer virtually every question on this practice exam, your score should be close to 95% every time you take the test. Good luck!

ahh i need to pass this dmv :( this is my third time..

Keep studying, Allen, 80% is not the limit! Read the book, then take another one of these VA practice permit test quizzes, work through the questions with the book at hand. These 20 days will fly by very quickly, don't waste any time and study every day!

got a 80!! take my test in like 20 days...

Hi Amilia! You are very welcome and congratulations on getting your learners permit! This is exactly why we advise people to work on this Virginia practice permit test until they get a score of around 90% every time they take it before visiting the DMV - by the time your score gets to 90% you can answer virtually any question on the real VA permit test. Once again, kudos on obtaining your learners permit and please share the test through facebook and twitter, this will help others find it. Thanks!

Thanks for an awesome practice test! I usually got a 75% on this when I took it, but got a 100% on my permit test! Its was helpful having this harder then the actual test because I was overly prepared, making the DMV's questions seem easy. Thanks again!

Hey Laura! It's all right to miss this many questions on the practice permit test VA quiz if you are just starting. There is certainly room for improvement, but that's what you're here for, isn't it? Just grab yourself a copy of the DMV handbook, read it once or twice, then take this practice test again, you will see how dramatically your score will improve. Good luck!

i missed 7 :O

Hi Seb, great score! Do you have any feedback about this Virginia learners permit practice test, did you find any errors or did you have trouble with any specific questions? Keep in mind that if you are under 19 years of age, you will be required to take a drivers education course, make sure to do that before you apply for a learners permit since it's a great way to prepare for the VA permit test. Good luck!

Hi Fred! That's all right, missing just four questions still gives you a score of 80% on this Virginia learners permit practice test. However, I think you should keep on practicing until you can get a score of at least 90% on every test before you visit the DMV to take your Virginia permit test.

Hi Jon. First of all, congratulations on obtaining your Virginia learners permit! Great achievement! Did your parents let you behind the wheel on the ride home? :) The fact that you were able to pass with real permit test with a perfect score after receiving just 60% on this Virginia learners permit practice test just shows that the time you spent practicing did not go in vain. Some people say that questions on this sample quiz are harder than the real exam, others say otherwise. I think that it's better to have harder questions on the practice test, since it will allow you to pass your DMV permit test much easier. Anyway, congratulations once again and good luck with your driving test!

I got a 60% almost every single time that I took this test and when I took the actual one a few days ago I finished in 6 minutes and with a 100% on both sections/.
