Hi Saphira. Yes, 85 is a pass for this NC permit practice test, but I would keep on working on it before taking the real NC DMV permit test, since it's always a little harder doing it at the office. Just ready the book a little longer, take more practice tests and you will be fine.

Hi Abby! Don't be so negative, some people fail the test more than three times, it's not the end of the world. I think you just need to study a little more before you take the permit test again. Tell me, have you read the manual yet? If you haven't, now is the time to do so. Don't just read it like you would read fiction, make sure to take notes, write out all laws/rules that contain numbers (for example, you would write down the speed limits, the following distance, a minimum distance to a vehicle you're following that warrants using high beams headlights). While going through the book, you can keep on taking this permit practice test NC sample quiz (you can take other practice tests too, it's actually better if you take as many quizzes as you can find, just keep cross referencing the answers in those quizzes with the book, some quizzes contain errors). Keep doing this for a week or two and I am sure you will pass your North Carolina permit test next time you go to the office. Once again, don't get discouraged, just study and you will be fine. I would also recommend that you take at least one professional driving lesson before you take the North Carolina driving test. I understand that you know how to drive and you don't need anyone to teach you that, but then the instructor will be able to show you exactly what will be on the drivers test so you can practice that. People who have a lot of driving experience tend to get a bit sloppy after a while and acquire some bad driving habits, while the driving examiner will be looking to see you at your best. yesterday 80% today 85% at 1st. time, in some questions I found more than one good "safe" answers, well "I dont know" my answer was bad. And my english is not very good for this, some word I saw first time. My practice in driving car in europe after 50000 miles is very good, I think or not? Thanks for tests.

Hey Peter, welcome to North Carolina! I guess it just shows that driving rules are quite universal, except for some minor differences, such as legal blood alcohol levels, seat belt laws, etc. A stop sign is a stop sign, no matter where you are, in Europe or the States.

Hello there. I would not say that your teacher was telling you anything wrong, it is actually a very reasonable thing to stop at a place that will allow you to see cross traffic clearly. However, the current traffic law actually mandates that you do not cross the limit line (also called "stop line" in some places). If there is no limit line, you can just draw a virtual limit line by using the back of the crosswalk, usually this place coincides with where the stop sign is installed. My drivers ed teacher always told us that when you when you come to a corner with a stop sign to stop far enough for you to see traffic. But on here it says to stop in back of the crosswalk or limit line, so had our teacher been telling us the wrong stuff?

The questions on the permit test will be similar to the ones on this practice test, the main difference is that this test does not contain any questions on road signs yet, while the real test will have those questions. We are working on developing a whole new set of practice tests that will cover the NC road signs as well, hopefully they'll be out soon.

80 is not bad, not bad at all and I am sure if you study a bit more, you will be able to get a higher score. Did you read the handbook before you started taking this nc practice permit test? The book is a wealth of information when it comes to taking the permit test, so make sure not to miss out on it.

If there is a curb - you turn the wheels toward the curb so they will have a chance to catch. If you are parking uphill and there is no curb, turn your wheels towards the right side of the road, so the vehicle will have a chance to roll off the road. Make sure to pay attention to the exact wording you see on the nc permit practice test and the real dmv exam, there are a few versions of this question.

I thought if you parking uphill you turn your front wheels toward the road so they catch on the curb.

You got the numbers right, but you must have misheard your teacher. According to the current child safety law, a child UNDER age 8 and weighing LESS than 80 pounds must be properly secured in a weight appropriate child passenger restraint system. Some of these aren't correct anymore..... like a child should be in a restraint if they are 8 years of age or weigh more than 80 pounds. or atleast, that's what my driver education teacher told me. Is he correct?

Great, great! What score did you get? Most people who take this practice permit test for NC for the first time get a score of about 60% and then they push it up to 80-90%, which is a good results that should allow you to pass the real permit test.
