Iowa Drivers Permit Practice Test

Before you can be issued with an Iowa driving license, you will have to take both a learner permit test and a driving skills exam. There are many ways for you to prepare for the drivers permit test and taking the 2013 Iowa drivers permit practice test is not the worst one. The 2013 Iowa drivers practice test can help you learn the state driving rules, road signs and safe driving practices. The main advantage of taking Iowa driver license practice tests is that they allow you to identify the driving rules you may have misunderstood during your study sessions, so you can always go back and review those materials.

Who Needs The Iowa Drivers Permit Practice Test

If you are reading this, you are probably thinking of applying for the Iowa driving license or Iowa learners permit right now and you know that before you can be issued with a drivers permit, you must take the Iowa permit test. The learners permit test covers Iowa driving laws, traffic signs and safe driving practices.

This is where the Iowa drivers practice test comes in. The tests are based on the materials put forth in the official Iowa drivers manual, the same book the real drivers permit test is based on, and it follows the same format, so they are an invaluable tool to anyone who's getting ready to tackle the real thing, especially if used the right way.

Study Resources

Since the Iowa permit practice test was only meant to supplement your other study resources, you should not use it instead of the regular study guide. Prior to taking the Iowa drivers license practice test, grab yourself a copy of the Iowa drivers manual and read the rules outlined there. Once done, take the Iowa DMV practice test and see how well you can do. Don't settle for one test and take as many as you can. Write out those questions you miss and revisit the chapters in the manual that cover these topics. Now go back and take some more Iowa practice tests. Repeat these steps until you start getting a score of at least 90% on each drivers practice test. This score is a little higher than the one you need to get at the Iowa MVD, but that's all right, you cannot be “too good” when it comes to knowing the driving rules.

Taking a state-approved Iowa drivers education course is another way for you to prepare for the Iowa permit test, although it can be a little expensive. Most of the drivers ed classes will include drivers practice tests, so you won't have to look for any outside study materials.

Hello Wyatt! No, unfortunately, 70% would not get you through the real Iowa permit test. The passing score for the real permit test in Iowa is 80%, there are 35 questions on the test and you need to answer at least 28 of them correctly. We advise that you study until you can get a score of 90-95% every time you take this Iowa drivers permit practice test, this will ensure that you won't have any troubles during the real exam. It is always best to be overprepared for the test, you don't want to be cutting it close and then failing just by missing one extra question. Make sure you can answer ALMOST every question out there, pay attention to road signs questions, since many students don't even study road signs, hoping to wing it. Good luck at the DMV!

Is 70 percent passing?

Number 17 is also incorrect, according to the manual. The correct answer on this test is get in the left lane before doing a u-turn. The manual says to "move as far to the right as you can."

Some of these questions seem odd. For example, number 18 offers three answers that all are inconsistent with what the most recent Iowa Driver's Manual states: "Iowa law requires you to use your headlights from sunset to sunrise or whenever visibility is 500 feet or less." Not 20 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes after sunset and before sunrise, but right at sunset and sunrise.

Hahahaha, I hope that you love this Iowa permit practice test, not myself personally :) Anyway, it is great to hear such positive feedback, you made my day! Good luck at the DMV!

love you man, thanks
