Practice Permit Test Answers
Answer A to this permit practice test Ohio sample question suggests that it is dangerous to try to squeeze between the truck and curb to make a right turn when the truck is also making a right turn. Sounds reasonable.
Answer B to the practice permit test Ohio quiz question tells us that it is dangerous to apply your brakes until the truck has completed the turn. This does not sound right, in fact you will have to apply your brakes if you want to slow down and let the truck complete the turn.
Answer C to this practice temps test question tells us that in this situation, it is dangerous to violate the “4-second” following distance rule. This is not exactly true as the truck is probably traveling very slowly while making this turn, but you don't really need too much distance to able to stop. While approaching too close it not advisable, you are risking small dents and scratches in case you fail to stop the vehicle.
Answer D to the Ohio practice permit test suggests that it is dangerous to honk your horn at the truck driver. While it is not advisable, since honking should only be used to attract someone's attention in case a dangerous situation may arise, it is certainly not dangerous to honk your horn at the truck driver.
Correct Answer To The Temps Test
The correct answer to this Ohio temps test question is A:
“IF YOU ARE FOLLOWING A TRUCK THAT SWINGS LEFT BEFORE MAKING A RIGHT TURN AT AN
INTERSECTION, YOU SHOULD REMEMBER THAT IT IS VERY DANGEROUS TO TRY TO SQUEEZE BETWEEN THE TRUCK AND CURB TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN”
Large trucks have a wider turning radius and that is why sometimes they need to swing left before making a right turn. Keep in mind that the rear end of the truck will follow a curve with a smaller radius, when compared to the front end of the truck. If you try to squeeze in between the truck and curb, your car may be literally crashed by the truck. It is a very dangerous situation because you will be in the truck driver's blind spot during the turn and large trucks are quite heavy and powerful, the driver may not even notice that he is crashing your vehicle until it is too late.
If you see a truck making a right turn, always wait until the truck completes the turn before continuing onto the intersection. Doing otherwise may result in a horrid traffic accident. Make sure to check out the Ohio temps test book for more information on sharing the road with large trucks.
